FSC (DI) Gears Up for Conference and National Championship Run

Farmingdale State College (DI) enters the AAU College Hockey season with high hopes under Head Coach Joseph Mazzie. After reaching the finals in last season's conference playoffs and making a strong showing in the National Championship, Farmingdale is eager to capitalize on one of their most promising recruiting classes ever.

Returning Forwards: The Rams welcome back a robust group of forwards, including John McCann, Eric Immel, Michael LoRicco, Sean O'Donnell, Joseph Minio, and Tim Duffy, last season’s top scorer with 44 points. This experienced lineup is anticipated to be the powerhouse behind Farmingdale's offense, offering leadership, physicality, grit, and scoring prowess.

New Forwards: Fresh faces like Timmy Devine, Nick Trabb, and Chris Keller, each bringing valuable junior hockey experience, along with Thomas Konkowski and Thomas Ivers from the Long Island Arrows, add a mix of skill and energy to Farmingdale's forward lineup, enhancing the team's depth and offensive potential. 

Returning Defensemen: The defensive line sees veterans like Daniel Rotan and Jacob Kravatz returning to anchor the back end. Their experience will be vital in maintaining Farmingdale's defensive integrity and supporting offensive transitions.

New Defensemen: Newcomers such as Jack Dodd and Angelo Mascaro, both transitioning from the P.A.L. Junior Islanders program, are set to bolster the Rams' defense. Their addition is expected to infuse youth and agility into the lineup, enhancing the team’s overall defensive strategies.

Returning Goaltenders: Joseph DeCanio returns as a significant presence in the net. With a history of leading the team in goals against average and wins, DeCanio will be a pivotal figure in Farmingdale's quest for a championship.

New Goaltenders: Andrew Barron joins the goaltending crew, bringing fresh talent from his time with the Woodbridge Wolfpack. His performance could play a crucial role in bolstering the team's last line of defense.

Looking Back at Last Season: Farmingdale's previous season was marked by heartbreak in the conference finals and a vigorous campaign in the National Championship. Their journey ended in the semifinals, underscoring both the team's potential and areas for growth.

Outlook for the 2024-25 Season: This season, Farmingdale is poised to make a serious run at the Conference Title and the National Championship. With a deep roster and strategic enhancements, the Rams are determined to overcome recent postseason challenges. A key to their success will be DeCanio reclaiming his role as the starting goaltender after previously being moved to a backup position, as well as the team’s ability to replace the production of top-scoring defenseman Jason Brennan, who was a crucial part of their defensive unit.
