Empire Collegiate Hockey Conference Officially Rejoins the ACHA
The Empire Collegiate Hockey Conference (ECHC) is proud to announce that it has been officially recognized once again as a member conference of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). This exciting milestone solidifies the ECHC’s place within the national collegiate hockey landscape and sets the stage for future growth.
With recognition now in place, the ECHC enters its probationary year in "Good Standing". The ECHC’s logo, membership, and standings will also be fully listed on the ACHA website, further strengthening its visibility and presence on the national stage.
“We are extremely excited to be back in the ACHA. To return to an organization where the Empire name has so much great history, we’re entering this new chapter with a clear commitment to collaboration and growth,” said Commissioner Devin Bertrand.
“The Empire Collegiate Hockey Conference has always looked to put our teams on a pedestal, showcase the talent we have in this region, and support the individual growth of our member programs. I think our renewed partnership with the ACHA gives us the environment to do that.”
The ECHC has a proud tradition within the ACHA, competing from 2009–10 through the 2018–19 seasons. During that time, the Conference consistently made an impact:
ECHC teams represented the Atlantic Region in every ACHA National Tournament.
11 players were named to the ACHA National Select Team.
3 players earned recognition as ACHA All-Americans.
The Conference produced 1 National Player of the Year and 1 National Coach of the Year.
The ECHC hosted the 2012 ACHA National Championship Tournament.
With its return to the ACHA, the ECHC looks forward to building on its history of success, expanding opportunities for student-athletes, and continuing to grow the game at the collegiate level.
